TAKE A BITE FOR CIVIL RIGHTS
Delicious food, good company, and a great cause!
The Fireplace Restaurant - Monday, February 6th @ 6:30
Tickets $85 - Reserve a ticket here!
This February, eleven students from Brookline High School are going to the South to visit the sites of the Civil Rights Movement and to meet some of most influential activists from the 1960s and 1970s. We are traveling with an organization called Sojourn to the Past, which was recently recognized for its excellence by the Obama administration.
The trip promises to be life-changing for all of those involved. Students get to meet members of the Little Rock Nine, talk to Congressman John Lewis about his involvement in the Movement, and see places like Selma, Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama which were at the heart of the Movement back in the 1960s. However, the cost of the trip is expensive so we’re asking for your help!
Join us at the Fireplace Restaurant in Washington Square on Monday, February 6th for a 3-course dinner to benefit the BHS students going on the trip. You will be able to enjoy a delicious meal, as well as hear a panel of local community members speak about their own experiences during the Civil Rights Movement.
Please come enjoy yourself and help BHS students be able to take advantage of this amazing opportunity. The cost of the dinner is $85 per ticket, and tickets can be reserved here. We thank you and appreciate your support.
“This trip was a life altering event that has forever changed the way I look at the world” – Rebecca, a former trip attendee.
